Prop Firm Challenge Target Pace Calculator

Pick your target and your deadline. See the gain you need each week and each trading day, what that asks of your risk per trade, and whether it fits inside the daily loss limit.

Say it in a sentence

I have a $ account on . I already made % of the balance. I want the rest in weeks, trading days a week and about trades a day.

I risk % of the balance per trade, win % of the time, and my average winner is times my risk.

Use a dot or a comma for decimals, and no thousands separators. Win rate and the size of winners are your own assumptions. Nothing you type is sent to our servers.

Rule settings
0 means no daily limit.

Estimates only. A straight-line pace with no compounding, and spread, slippage and gaps are not included. Independent tool, not an official The5ers tool. See the methodology and the risk disclaimer.

How I think about it

I plan the pace backwards from the loss limit

A target like 8% sounds like a destination. I treat it more like a speed limit in reverse. The faster you want to get there, the more every trade has to carry, and the closer a normal losing streak gets to the daily loss limit. That is why I look at the pace before I look at the trade.

I check the chain in this order: the gain I need per day, the number of trades I really take in a day, the average result of those trades, and the risk that makes the first three agree. If that risk is bigger than I normally use, the answer is not to risk more. The answer is a longer deadline.

This is my way of planning, not advice. Your plan may differ, and the calculator lets you change every number.

What each target asks for, by deadline

Each cell shows the gain per week / the gain per trading day, as a share of the starting balance. Five trading days a week, a straight line, no compounding.

Pace lanes

One trader, three deadlines

A $100,000 High Stakes Step 1 with an 8% target, 4 trading days a week, 2 trades a day, a 45% win rate and 1.5R winners. That is an edge of +0.125R per trade, which is modest and realistic. Only the deadline changes.

Want the target tracked on your chart?

Tachi Prop Guard is my MetaTrader 5 risk manager for prop accounts. It follows your profit target progress, your daily loss and your max drawdown (static or trailing) on one dashboard, warns you by popup, push or sound, and in Protect mode can close trades and lock trading until the reset.

Tachi Prop Guard for MT5

It is my own product on the MQL5 Market, so I earn money if you buy. Limits: it cannot stop an order from another EA before it is sent, it cannot guarantee fills on gaps or over the weekend, it does not guarantee a passed challenge, and it gives no trade signals.

FAQ

Target pace questions

How is the pace calculated?
Profit still needed is the target minus what you have already made, as a percentage of the starting balance. That is divided by your weeks to get the weekly gain, and by your trading days a week to get the daily gain. The pace is a straight line with no compounding, so it is a planning number and not a prediction.
Does The5ers have a time limit or a minimum number of trading days?
I have not verified a time limit or a minimum number of trading days for each program, so this calculator does not assume any. The weeks box is your own deadline. Check the rules of your plan in your dashboard and on the official site before you plan around a date.
What do win rate and R mean here?
Win rate is the share of your trades that win. R is the size of your average winner as a multiple of the risk on the trade, so 1.5 means a winner pays 1.5 times what a loser costs. Together they give the average result per trade, called expectancy. They are your assumptions, not a forecast, and a recent sample can mislead.
Why does the tool say I need more risk than I enter?
Because your numbers do not reach the target in your deadline. It shows the risk per trade that would, if your win rate, R and trades per day were true. If that number is high, the honest options are a longer deadline, a better edge, or more trades that meet your rules. More risk is the option that can end the account.
Why is there no daily loss limit for Bootcamp?
The plan table I checked on October 9, 2026 shows no daily loss row for Bootcamp, so the tool applies none. You can type one in Rule settings. Confirm the rules of your own account in your dashboard.
Is the profit target measured on balance or on equity?
I have not verified every detail of how each program measures progress, and small differences between a dashboard figure and a simple calculation can exist. Use this tool for planning and read the profit goal on your dashboard for the real number.
Is a faster pace better?
No. Nobody scores you on speed in this calculator. A short deadline only raises the gain each trade has to carry, and that pushes the risk up and the number of losses you can take down. The Pace lanes section shows the same trader on three deadlines.
Can I use it for other prop firms?
Yes. Choose Custom and enter the target, the max loss and the daily loss of your firm in Rule settings. The maths is the same. Check the official rules of that firm.
Does a good pace mean I will pass?
No. Nothing here promises a result or a passed challenge. Spread, slippage, news and your own behavior all change what happens. Read the risk disclaimer.
Is this an official The5ers tool?
No. It is an independent calculator. I am an affiliate of The5ers, which I explain in the affiliate disclosure. The program rules shown on this page were last verified on October 9, 2026.
