Free prop firm tool

The5ers Daily Loss & Drawdown Calculator

See exactly how much room you have left before the daily loss limit or the max loss limit, and check whether your next trade is safe. Built for High Stakes, Hyper Growth, Pro Growth and Bootcamp.

Quick example: on a $100,000 High Stakes account the max loss is 10%, so your equity must stay above $90,000. The 3% daily limit is $3,000 below your equity at the start of the day.

How it works

How the two limits are calculated

The formulas

Max loss level = Starting balance - (Max loss % x Starting balance)
Daily loss level = Equity at start of day - (Daily % x Starting balance)
Room left = Current equity - Level

The max loss level is static: it stays below your starting balance even when your account is in profit. The daily level moves every day, because it starts from your equity at the start of that day.

Your firm may measure the daily limit differently. Use Rule settings and the dashboard check to match your account.

Worked example

$100,000 High Stakes. Equity at the start of the day is $101,443.41. Current equity is $101,449.65.

Max loss level = 100,000 - 10,000 = 90,000
Daily loss level = 101,443.41 - 3,000 = 98,443.41
Room left (daily) = 101,449.65 - 98,443.41 = 3,006.24
Room left (max) = 101,449.65 - 90,000 = 11,449.65

The daily limit is closer, so it is the one to watch.

Use it right

Three mistakes that cost accounts

01

Using balance instead of equity

Open trades count. A floating loss eats your room before you close anything, so check equity, not only balance.

02

Forgetting the day resets

The daily level moves with each new day. A safe level yesterday can be too close today if you start the day lower.

03

Risking the whole buffer

Slippage, spread and gaps can push a loss past your stop. Size trades so several losses in a row still leave room.

Watch your limits live, on your MT5 chart

A calculator tells you where the limits are. Tachi Prop Guard keeps watching them while you trade, as a risk manager for MetaTrader 5.

  • Tracks daily loss and max drawdown against your limits, in percent or in account currency
  • Daily baseline: start-of-day balance, start-of-day equity, or the higher of the two. Drawdown: static, trailing by equity peak or trailing by balance peak
  • Monitor mode only watches. Protect mode can close positions, delete pending orders and lock trading until the next reset
  • Projects your loss if all stop-losses are hit, and lists positions with no stop-loss as unbounded risk
  • Alerts by popup, push notification and sound, plus a CSV audit log
  • No DLLs and no internet access needed

Tachi Prop Guard is my own product, sold on the MQL5 Market for MetaTrader 5 only. If you buy it, I earn money. The free calculator stays free either way.

Honest limits. MetaTrader 5 has no pre-trade hook, so Tachi Prop Guard cannot block another EA’s order before it is sent. It detects such orders after they appear and closes them. It cannot guarantee fills during gaps, weekends or market closures, and it does not guarantee that you will pass a challenge or avoid every breach. It does not open trades or give signals.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the daily loss limit on The5ers?
In The5ers’ plan table the daily limit is 3% for High Stakes, Hyper Growth and Pro Growth. How it is measured (which balance or equity, and when it resets) is shown in your own dashboard, so always check it there. This calculator lets you choose the reference.
Is the max loss static or trailing?
On a High Stakes dashboard the max loss level stays at 90% of the starting balance, even when the account is in profit, which means it is static. Other programs can differ, so confirm yours. The calculator also supports a trailing limit for other firms.
Do floating profit and loss count?
For equity-based limits, yes. The room left on the dashboard is calculated from equity, so open trades count. That is why the calculator asks for your current equity, not only your balance.
What is the difference between a Daily Pause and a Daily Loss?
The plan table calls the 3% limit of Hyper Growth a Daily Pause, and The5ers describes it as pausing trading for the rest of the day. The other programs call it Daily Loss. Read your program’s rules to see what happens at a breach.
Is this an official The5ers tool?
No. It is an independent calculator. I am an affiliate of The5ers, which I explain in the affiliate disclosure. The rules in the table come from The5ers’ public plan table and were last verified on October 9, 2026. Rules and promotions change, so confirm them on The5ers’ site and in your dashboard.
Can I use it for other prop firms?
Yes. Choose Custom and enter your firm’s daily loss, max loss and profit target, and whether the max loss is static or trailing.
What is Tachi Prop Guard?
Tachi Prop Guard is my MetaTrader 5 utility for prop firm traders. It watches your account’s daily loss and max drawdown against the limits you set, shows the loss you would take if all stop-losses are hit, sends alerts, and in Protect mode can close positions and lock trading until the next reset.
Can Tachi Prop Guard block another EA’s order before it is sent?
No. MetaTrader 5 has no pre-trade hook, so it cannot stop an order before it is sent. It detects such orders after they appear and closes them. It also cannot guarantee fills during gaps, weekends or market closures.
Does Tachi Prop Guard guarantee I will not breach a limit or pass a challenge?
No. It is a risk tool, not a guarantee. It does not open trades or give trading signals, and you stay responsible for your trading decisions.
